does well at State Tournament
The Prairie du Chien High School clay target shooting team finished in 10th place out of 20 teams at the State High School Clay Target Tournament on June 6 in Rome.
“We shot awesome!” said Coach Kirby Kohler. “Gale-Ettrick-Trempealeau placed fourth in our conference, doubling the points we scored during competition weeks. We finished sixth in the conference but we beat GET at the state competition.”
Of Prairie’s shooters, 13 of 19 set personal records. Brett Sander was the team’s top shooter, breaking 88/100 clay targets. Brett finished tied for sixth in the Junior Varsity Division. Blake Bartels set a personal record and broke 84/100 which placed him third in the Novice Division. Other shooters placing in the top 10 in their divisions were Alora Babb, Autumn Kohler and Stephen Ronnfeldt.
