Area girls at State Track

Two area
girls compete at
State Track Meet
Two area high school athletes, Tatem Baures of Wauzeka-Steuben and Sydney Bloom of River Ridge, competed in the State Track Meet in La Crosse June 5-6.
Bloom, a junior, cleared the opening height of 8-0 to finish 16th in the Girls Division 3 pole vault.
Baures, a sophomore, had an excellent meet, making it to the podium twice to receive awards.
Baures finished sixth in the 1600-meter run on Friday with a school record time of 5:20.94 to score 3 points for Wauzeka-Steuben.
On Saturday, Baures finished second in the 3200-meter run in 11:49.26 which is also a school record. She scored 8 points for her second-place finish for a total of 11 points for Wauzeka-Steuben which finished 23rd in the Division 3 Girls State Track Meet.
