Vogt second in 100 at state track

MFL MarMac junior Hayley Vogt came away from the Iowa High School Athletic Association state track meet in Des Moines with a second-place finish in the 100 meter dash in class 2A.
With a time of 12.82, Vogt finished behind Saint Ansgar’s Natalie Halfman, who posted a time of 12.49. Clayton Ridge’s Hope Heitman, whom Vogt battled several times throughout the season, was fourth with a time of 12.98.
Vogt qualified for the Saturday final after running a 12.49 in the preliminaries on Thursday, bested only by Halfman, who set a state record with a time of 12.14.
Vogt also made it to state in the 200, but missed the finals after placing 10th, two spots short of qualifying, with a time of 26.37.
