Prairie soccer
Richland Center
stops Prairie girls
on Parents Night
On Tuesday, May 19, the Prairie du Chien girls soccer team celebrated Parents Night at Bluff View Intermediate School in a game against Richland Center.
It was a great game and the weather warmed up just in time for the start. Despite being one short of a full field, the team had a great first half! The team ended the half down 2-1 to Richland Center. Prairie’s goal was scored by Brooke Boone in the 37th minute. Tajah Eades was in net and had 15 saves.
In the second half, the team became fatigued and lost its edge. The final score was 9-1 at the end of the 90 minutes. In the second half, Eades had 8 saves. Taylor Hendrickson did a wonderful job covering the midfield with some beautiful recovery runs as well as three drives to the goal. The leader for shots was Boone with 7 on frame. Prairie had some great opportunities with the ball bouncing in front of Richland Center’s net but the opposing goalie just barely beat them to it. Eades had many beautiful punts all the way to half to give her teammates the opportunity to drive to the goal.
Defensively, the team was led by Sadie Tieman, Courtney Pattison, and Payton Davidson. Tieman had one of her best games of the season with many great steals and recovery runs when Richland Center gained the advantage. Pattison also had a few great runs toward the end of the game when she made a great attempt to carry the ball up and open up the field for her teammates. Great job ladies and thank you to all the parents who have raised some pretty extraordinary young ladies.
