John Robert Lewin, 62, of Guttenberg, died Sunday, March 1, 2015, at the Guttenberg Municipal Hospital.

Visitation was Tuesday, March 3, at Tuecke-Allyn Funeral Home, Guttenberg.

Interment was at Ceres Cemetery, rural Guttenberg.

John was born on Jan. 21, 1953, at Xavier Hospital in Dubuque, the son of Robert and Delorres (Moser) Lewin.

John received his education from the Garnavillo School and graduated with the class of 1971.  He later attended Iowa State University from 1971 to 1974. John worked at Dubuque Packing Company until they closed and then worked for Guttenberg Industries and Nordic Forge.  John had many interest but never actually did them but stayed very interested in those activities through the years. 

John is survived by his siblings, Robert (Marlene) Cornwell of Gillette, Wyo., Bruce (Donna) Cornwell of Eastman, Wis., Steve (Deana) Cornwell and Brenda (Fred) Schaub, both of Guttenberg; many nieces, nephews, great-nieces, nephews and friends.

He was preceded in death by his parents; step-mother, Eleanor Cornwell Lewin; brothers, Roger Cornwell, John Cornwell; nephew, Scott Cornwell; niece, Stephanie Schaub; several nieces, nephews, great-nieces and nephews in infancy.
