Martha Lynn “Princess” Sauer
Martha Lynn “Princess” Sauer, 53, died on Monday, Jan. 26, at Gundersen Health System in La Crosse.
Martha was born Oct. 31, 1961 to Charles and Ivanelle (Corlett) Sauer in McGregor, Iowa. Martha graduated from Mar-Mac High School, McGregor, Iowa in 1980. After graduation she traveled all over the United States and Germany, making friends far and wide. Martha worked at The Isle of Capri in Marquette, Iowa for many years and most recently was employed at Greene in Monona, Iowa.
Martha was active in the McGregor Achievement Club, helped with the Girl Scouts, she enjoyed cooking and doing many crafts including, painting glassware, quilting, cross stitching, and making all occasion cards. Martha was known by many as “Princess” and was always the life of the party, her laughter was contagious and she had a heart of gold. She will be greatly missed by her family and many friends. Martha was a beautiful example,on this earth, of the love of God.
Martha is survived by her siblings, Angie (Jim) Soulli of Marquette, Iowa, Tom (Charlene) Sauer of McGregor, Iowa, Julie (Charles Sr.) Mansfield of Prairie du Chien, and Valerie Heer of Mountlake Terrace, Washington, eight nieces and nephews and two great-nephews. Martha was preceded in death by her parents, Charles and Ivanelle Sauer.
Funeral services were held Friday, Jan. 30, at Thornburg-Grau Funeral Home and Cremation Service, McGregor, Iowa. Pastor Mike Jacobson officiated. Inurnment was at the Pleasant Grove Cemetery, McGregor, Iowa.
