Seneca tops Wauzeka-Steuben

Seneca bested visiting Wauzeka-Steuben 66-43 in a Ridge and Valley boys basketball clash Friday night. 

Seneca led 15-11 in the opening stanza and increased the lead to 31-22 at the half. 

The Indians kept the momentum to take the second half 35-21 en route to the victory.

River Valley defeated host Prairie du Chien/Wauzeka-Steuben 50-21 in an SWC wrestling meet Thursday night on Senior Night.

PdC gymnasts host Dodgeville on Senior Night

Prairie du Chien hosted Dodgeville-Mineral Point in a gymnastics meet at Bluff View Intermediate School Monday night. Dodgeville-Mineral Point won the meet 114.775-87.100. It was Senior Night for Prairie du Chien. 

Jesse Gutknecht scored 4.45 on bars to earn fourth place on the bars.

Paige Severson scored 5.35 on bars to earn third place on bars and scored 7.5 on vault for fifth place.

Prairie du Chien hosted their first gymnastics meet of the season Monday night in the Bluff View gym. 

Prairie du Chien had a team score of 78.075. Platteville/Belmont/Lancaster scored 125.75.

Big fourth period propels PdC boys

Prairie du Chien sent visiting Richland Center packing 54-41 in SWC boys basketball Thursday night. 

After a slow first period, Prairie led 7-4. 

Center came back to take a 19-18 halftime lead.

Fennimore defeated River Ridge-Cassville 61-10 in a wrestling meet Tuesday night. River Ridge-Cassville is a small team and gives up a number of forfeits to opponents with more wrestlers.

Highland narrowly defeated host Wauzeka-Steuben 50-46 in nonconference girls basketball action Monday night. 

Highland led 15-14 after the first quarter and 24-20 at halftime. 

The Lady Hornets outscored the Cardinals 18-12 in the third quarter to take the lead at 38-36.

Prairie girls 

get past Logan

Prairie du Chien bested La Crosse Logan 41-29 in the La Crosse Aquinas Girls Basketball Tournament Monday night, Dec. 29. 

Prairie led 13-5 after one period and 22-10 at halftime. 

Logan came back to take the third quarter 13-9 to pull within 31-23, but Prairie took the fourth period 10-6 to close out the 41-29 victory.

Decorah holds 

off Prairie du Chien

Decorah narrowly escaped Prairie du Chien with a 37-35 win over the host Lady Blackhawks Tuesday night. 

Decorah led 14-6 following one period and 22-14 at the half. 

Prairie came back to take the third quarter 11-8 to get to within 30-25.
