John Wolfram

John J. Wolfram, age 78, of Prairie du Chien, died unexpectedly Wednesday, April 16, at the Prairie du Chien Memorial Hospital.

John was born Nov. 19, 1935, in Warren, Ill., the son of Cletus and Florence (Murray) Wolfram. He married Glenda Bennett on June 1, 1957, in Shullsburg. 

He is survived by his wife of nearly 57 years, Glenda Wolfram of Prairie du Chien, his daughter Deborah (Dean) Eckhoff, of Oxford, Ohio; his sons, Steven (Karen) Wolfram of Menomonee Falls, and Daniel (Patcharee) Wolfram, of Bangkok, Thailand; his sister Marge (John) Thornton, of Marshfield; along with six grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents.

Christine West

Christine “Chrisy” West, age 46, died April 11, in Hermitage, Tenn.

Christine was born February 26, 1986, to Ronald and Diane Lawrence of Eastman. 

She is survived by her husband Jeff West, her parents, Ron and Diane Lawrence, of Eastman; her sister Lea Discher, of Janesville; children Trevor Lornson-Korrie West, Amber Lornson and Alec Lornson.

Services were held Friday, April 18. There will be a memorial service held in Eastman at a later date.

Robert Kiesau

Robert Paul Henry Kiesau, 76, Monona, Iowa, died Sunday, April 13, at Gundersen Lutheran Health Systems, La Crosse.

Bob was born on July 5, 1937, in Monona, Iowa, to Paul and Mary (Nagel) Kiesau and was raised by his maternal grandparents, Elba and Nellie (Land) Nagel. He graduated from Monona-Farmersburg High School with the class of 1955. Following high school, Bob attended Barber College in Cedar Rapids, Iowa, and was then employed at the Rose Barbershop in Monona.

Mary Beth Hobart

Mary Beth (Gilster) Hobart died on May 9, 2013. 

She was proceeded in death by her mother, Margaret Loudermilk; her brother, Scott Gilster; and her grandparents, Margaret and Floyd Luce, and Alvin and Thalia Gilster.

She is survived by her sister Peggy Gilster, of Glenwood, Iowa; her brother, Paul Gilster, of Prairie du Chien; a nephew, Jesse Fuller, of Dubuque, Iowa; her father Elvie Gilster, of McGregor, Iowa; many friends and her devoted Siamese cat, Dante.

Bruce Brandt

Bruce G. Brandt, age 59, of Des Moines, Iowa, died at his home on April 13.

He was born Feb. 16, 1955, in St. Paul, Minn., to Dorothy and Quentin Brandt. He graduated from Prairie du Chien High School in 1973, and later earned a Bachelors degree from the University of Minnesota. He was married to Beth Drees in 1983, and they built their life in Iowa, first in Clarion, for four years, and then in Des Moines.

Bruce was a longtime administrative assistant to the Iowa House Republican leadership. He also had an encyclopedic knowledge of all kinds of music, was an enthuasiatic cook, and a master of crossword puzzles.

Una Black

Una Mae “Sissy” Black, age 44, of Prairie du Chien, passed away unexpectedly Tuesday, April 15, at her home.

She was born Dec. 13, 1969, in Beloit, the daughter of Homer and Nancy (Darby) Black. She was recently employed at Prairie Industries and The Dollar Tree in Prairie du Chien.

Judith Louise "Judy" Isen

 

Judith Louise “Judy” Isen, 76, of Lynxville, passed away Friday, April 11, at her home. 

She was born in Racine, on Feb. 17, 1938 to Leroy and Catherine (nee: Rieter) Cramer. She attended Holy Name Grade School and St. Catherine’s High School. In 1960, she married Daniel L. Vertz and they had five children. Judy was employed at Ametek-Lamb Electric for 30 years. It was at Ametek that she met Allen F. Isen and they were wed on Aug. 31, 1990. In 2002, Judy and Al moved permanently to Lynxville, and Judy became a member of the St. Patrick Catholic Parish in Seneca.

Margaret V. "Vi" Atkins

 

Margaret V. “Vi” Atkins passed away Sunday, April 13, at the Prairie Maison Healthcare Center in Prairie du Chien. 

She was born Oct. 20, 1919 the daughter of Fred and Viola (Gremore) Berger. She worked as a clerk for Gambles. She married Floyd Atkins on April 16, 1941. He preceded her in death July 19, 1981. She worked in the laboratory for Burgess Cellulose and later as a bookkeeper for Steiner Brothers Construction. Vi then began working at 3M Company and retired after 20 years service. She was an active member at St. Gabriel’s, an avid golfer and loved traveling and playing cards.

Roger Osterhaus

 

Roger P. Osterhaus, 85, of Bloomington, WI went home to our Lord on April 11. 

He was born March 16, 1929 to Joseph and Rose (Wegmann) Osterhaus. Roger had a long career in farm implement sales and service. He was co-owner and operator of Farmers Implement Company of Bloomington. Though his career was in the implement dealership, his true love, besides his family, was farming. He continued to enjoy farming after his retirement until a couple of years ago. He was a member of the board of directors for Peoples State Bank for over 25 years. Roger was also a member of the Knights of Columbus for over 50 years.

June Gleich

 

June Gleich, a resident of Lexington, S.C., died Jan. 6, in Lexington. 

She was born in Prairie du Chien on June 19, 1921, to Lawrence and Olga (Potratz) Kieser. 

A graveside service, with military honors, will be held at Arlington National Cemetery on Tuesday, April 29, at 9 a.m. A memorial service will follow at Faith Lutheran Church, 3313 Arlington Blvd., Arlington, VA 22201.
