Rose Mary Brown

 

Rose Mary (Caya) Brown, 82, passed away on All Saints Day, Friday, Nov. 1, in San Antonio, Texas. 

She was born in Lynxville, to Mitchell and Rose (Mickel) Caya. Rose served our country in the U. S. Women’s Army Corps. She was a devoted Roman Catholic. 

Rose was preceded in death by her husband of 51 years, Charles W. Brown. She is survived by her daughters, Katherine Brown, Christine (Rodney) Klein, Joan Brown, Mary Brown; son, Michael (Katherine) Brown; grandchildren, Elizabeth, Hannah, Emma, Ashlyn and numerous relatives.

Karen Clark

 

Karen Clark, 72, of McGregor, Iowa died Thursday, Oct. 31, at the Northgate Care Center in Waukon, Iowa. 

She was born March 17, 1941 to Fred and Genevieve (Koehn) Curtis in Milwaukee. Karen graduated from MarMac High School in 1959. Karen was a Realtor in Pine Island for many years. She also worked at the Nursing home in McGregor and at the Piggly Wiggly Bakery in Prairie du Chien. She enjoyed her house plants, camping, being outdoors, spending time with her family and friends, she was an avid reader, she loved visiting over a cup of coffee and spending time with her pets.

Joan Egge

 

Joan H. Egge, 82, of Prairie du Chien passed away Thursday, Oct. 31, at the Prairie Maison Care Center in Prairie du Chien. 

She was born Jan. 3, 1931 in Perth Ontario Canada, the daughter of Gerald and Harriett (Boles) Pettigrew. She married A. Douglas Egge on June 25, 1949 in Perth, Canada. He preceded her in death on Jan. 5, 2007. Joan was an active member of St. Peter Lutheran Church in Prairie du Chien. She worked at the Ferryville Cheese Factory and later for Betty’s Hallmark in Prairie du Chien.

Debra Dwornik

 

Debra A. Dwornik, 53, of Prairie du Chien passed away at her home with her beloved husband Phil of twenty three years, mother, sister, and two dogs by her side from advanced cancer that was untreatable. She will be dearly missed by her husband, loving and caring parents, Terrance and Joanne A. Luebke and cherished sister, Tina C. Luebke. This sudden loss will be felt by all her friends and those who got to know her from working at the Nelson True Value Hardware Store for the past eleven years where she shared advice, laughter and jokes. Unfortunately there was not enough time to fulfill all her dreams including her last one of returning to Wyalusing Park one last time as she had planned.

Ivanelle Sauer

 

Ivanelle Ann Sauer, 82, McGregor, Iowa, passed away on Oct. 26, surrounded by her family at the Prairie du Chien Memorial Hospital in Prairie du Chien. 

She was born on April 25, 1931 in McGregor, Iowa, as the daughter of the late John E. and Azalia C. (Rubendall) Corlett. Ivy graduated from McGregor High School in 1949.

Mary Hannah

 

Mary K. Hannah, 68, of Prairie du Chien passed away surrounded by her family Tuesday, Oct. 22, at the Select Specialty Hospital in Madison, after a courageous battle with breast cancer. 

She was born Dec. 27, 1944, in Prairie du Chien the daughter of Arthur and Kathryn (Rosenbaum) Steiner. She married James Hannah on May 28, 1966. Mary loved working with elementary school children, especially those with special needs. She was an avid Packer, Badger and Brewer fan and enjoyed attending her family’s sporting events. She was active in the American Legion Auxiliary where she acted as president.

Rosemary A Waltz, 84, of Boscobel passed away on Sunday Oct. 20, at Boscobel Area Hospital.

She was born April 29, 1929 in Hickory Grove Township, the daughter of Carl and Teresa (Schuhart) Kretschman. She married Joseph Waltz on May 1, 1951 at St. Mary’s Catholic Church in Fennimore.

Donald Knapp

 

Donald L. Knapp, 91, of Dubuque, Iowa (formerly of Marquette, Iowa), died Saturday, Oct. 19, at his home in Dubuque, Iowa. 

Donald Leroy Knapp, the son of Archie and Violet (Kohl) Knapp, was born Jan. 21, 1922 in McGregor, Iowa. Donald served as a Sergeant in the United States Army during World War II. He was stationed in Hawaii and the Philippines and worked as a heavy equipment mechanic. Donald was united in marriage with Lois Tindell on June 25, 1946 at the Community Presbyterian Church in Postville, Iowa. He worked as a mechanic at John Deere and H & W Motor Express in Dubuque until he retired in 1987. He and Lois also owned and operated trailer parks in Dubuque, McGregor and Prairie du Chien.

LeRoy Trautsch

 

LeRoy L. Trautsch, 64, of Prairie du Chien passed away Sunday, Oct. 20, at the Methodist Hospital in Rochester, Minn. 

He was born March 2, 1949 in Prairie du Chien the son of Lyle and Rose (Mezera) Trautsch. He served in the U.S. Army during the Vietnam War. He married Deanna Pulda on Oct. 3, 1987 at St. Wenceslaus Church in Eastman. LeRoy worked at 3M Company in Prairie du Chien for over 30 years. He enjoyed softball, golfing and playing cards.
