Rose M. Trautsch

 

Rose M. Trautsch, 93, of Prairie du Chien passed away Thursday, Nov. 28, at the Prairie du Chien Memorial Hospital. 

She was born Sept. 15, 1920 in Eastman, the daughter of Frank and Clara (Sprosty) Mezera. She married Lyle Trautsch on Oct. 15, 1940 in Eastman. He preceded her in death on October 12, 1993. Together they farmed in the Seneca area. Rose also worked in food service for the Seneca Public School for over 20 years. She was well known in the area for making wedding cakes and she enjoyed knitting and crocheting. She was a loving wife, mother, mother- in-law and grandmother and will be sadly missed by all.

Ilene Hausler

 

Ilene A. Hausler, 80, of rural Wauzeka passed away on Saturday, Nov. 23, at the Boscobel Area Health Care in Boscobel.

She was born on Oct. 29, 1933 in Mason City, Iowa, the daughter of Wayne and Helen (Lundgren) Schollian. She married Fred Hausler on Sept. 17, 1955 at the Congregational Church in Lancaster.

Neva Lessard

 

Neva I. Lessard, 70, of Prairie du Chien passed away Saturday, Nov. 23, at her home surrounded by her children and grandchildren. 

She was born Oct. 12, 1943 in Bagley, the daughter of Frank and Bessie (Bedward) Baures. She married Richard Lessard on Nov. 8, 1958 in Prairie du Chien. He preceded her in death on March 18, 2006. She worked as a caregiver for Homeward Bound in Prairie du Chien for 17 years.

Edward Meng

 

Edward H. Meng, 102, of Bagley passed away Saturday, Nov. 23, at the Prairie Maison Care Center. 

He was born Feb. 7, 1911 in Wyalusing Township the son of John and Ida (Wolf) Meng. He married Birdie Clark on Feb. 24, 1940 at St. John’s Lutheran Church in Dubuque, Iowa. He farmed most of his life in the Bagley area. Ed was an active member of the Zion Lutheran Church in Bagley.

Wilbur G. Stuckey, 90, passed away surrounded by his family Wednesday, Nov. 20, at the Prairie du Chien Memorial Hospital, one day before his 91st birthday.

Florence Kozelka

 

Florence Nettie Kozelka, 98, of Prairie du Chien passed away Sunday, Nov. 17, at the Prairie Maison Care Center. 

She was born on the family farm in Patch Grove, on July 4, 1915 to Frank and Alta (Pendleton) Ellis. She married Adolph (Oddie) Kozelka on May 31, 1939 in Waukon, Iowa. He preceded her in death on Oct. 23, 1985. Florence did clerical work most of her married life. She was an active member of the Eagles Club Auxiliary and also played in the Ding-a-Ling Musical Band for 38 years.

John Rettig

 

John E. “Jack” Rettig, 93, of Prairie du Chien and formerly of Chicago passed away Sunday, Nov. 17, at the Prairie Maison Care Center. 

He was born Sept. 8, 1920 in Highwood, Ill. the son of Peter and Pearl (Garrity) Rettig. He served in the U.S. Navy during WWII. He married Elizabeth Coleman on April 21, 1945 at Holy Cross Parish in Deerfield, Ill. He owned and operated Rettig Rug and Furniture Cleaning on the North shore of Chicago for 45 years. Jack liked to bowl, play ping pong and was an avid fisherman.
