Jessica Kemerling

 

Jessica A. Kemerling, 42, of Boscobel died Monday, Aug. 5, at her home of natural causes. 

She was born Oct. 29, 1970, in Boscobel the daughter of Roy and Alma Jean (Ott) Kemerling.

Jessica was a loving mother and very proud of her three children. Jessica’s strong spirit took her many places and generated admiration for her desire for her independence.

Patricia Smith

 

Patricia M. Smith, 89, of Prairie du Chien passed away Tuesday, April 9, in Omaha, Neb. 

She was born February 14, 1924 in Green Bay, the daughter of Bernard and Cecelia (Halinde) Shine. She married Kenneth Smith on February 8, 1947 in Green Bay, who later preceded her in death on April 1, 1957. Pat was an active member of St. John’s Parish in Prairie du Chien where she taught elementary English and was the director of religious education. She loved the Prairie du Chien community, her church and the Mississippi River.

Enid Spaight

 

Enid E. Spaight, 89, of Burlington passed away on Monday, July 29, at the Zilber Family Hospice Center in Wauwatosa. 

She was born May 5, 1924 to Robert and Florence (nee Goetsch) Olson in Racine. She attended East Cape Graded School and graduated from Waterford High School. On September 20, 1947 she was united in marriage to the late Colin Spaight. Together with her husband, Enid once owned and operated the Dover Inn. She lived in many areas before calling Burlington her home. Enid proudly served in the U.S. Navy during WWII and participated in the Honor Flight in November 2011.

Frances Blum

 

Frances M. Blum, 73, passed away Monday, July 29, at her residence, surrounded by her family. 

She was born May 14, 1940 the daughter of Edward and Frances (Crubel) Weber. Frannie graduated from Bloomington High School in 1958. She was united into marriage to James J. Blum on May 27, 1959 at St. Mary’s Catholic Church in Bloomington. Together they farmed hand in hand on the Blum Family farm in Glen Haven Township. Frannie was a member of St. Mary’s Catholic Church in Glen Haven, its altar society and served on the parish council. She was very devoted to her family. Frannie loved to play cards, cheering on the Chicago Cubs and Green Bay Packers, and the fun of having family and friends around her house.

Emma Gunther

 

Emma R. Gunther, 93, of Eastman, passed away on Monday, July 29, at the Prairie du Chien Memorial Hospital. 

She was born February 29, 1920 the daughter of George and Albena (Stluka) Blazek.

She is survived by her daughter, Nancy (William) Hausheer of Safety Harbor, Fla.; and one grandson, Steven Hausheer. She was preceded in death by her parents and one brother, Ted Blazek.

Eric Langland

 

Eric M. Langland, 29, of Decorah, Iowa, died Saturday, July 20, in a drowning accident in rural Decorah. 

Eric Michael Langland was born on August 13, 1983 in Decorah, Iowa, the son of Bruce Dean Langland and Shirley Faye Stee. He attended Decorah High School and later earned his GED. Eric had most recently been working as a CNC milling machine operator for Cutting Edge Enterprise in Decorah. From an early age, Eric took an interest electronics and technology. He was good working with computers and anything to do with motors. Eric also enjoyed the outdoors and liked to go camping, canoeing and swimming. He was also involved with flying radio controlled planes.

Norma Sprosty

 

Norma E. Sprosty, 90, of Sheboygan, formerly of Wauzeka, passed away Wednesday, July 24, at Aurora Medical Center Sheboygan. 

She was born on July 14, 1923 in Wauzeka to John “Louis” and Kathryn (McCarthy) Lathrop. She was married February 14, 1944, in Wauzeka to Thomas Sprosty and he preceded her on December 7, 2012. She was a lifelong member of Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Wauzeka. Her greatest joy in life was spending time with family and friends.

Vada Schwantes

 

Vada M. Schwantes, 92, of Glen Haven, passed away surrounded by her family on Monday, July 22, Orchard Manor Nursing Home, Lancaster. 

She was born on October 3, 1920, the daughter of Lewis and Leta (Miles) Mayne. Vada graduated from Lancaster High School in 1938. On October 31, 1942, she was united in marriage to Roy C. Schwantes at the Methodist Parsonage in Lancaster. After their marriage, the couple farmed. She always raised a large vegetable and flower garden and was known for her green thumb when it came to growing African violets. Vada was a member of the Beetown United Methodist Church, Beetown Ladies Aide, Sew Sew Club, and longtime member of the West Grant Saddle Club.

Doris Rybarczyk

 

Doris M. Rybarczyk, 87, of Prairie du Chien passed away Saturday, July 20, at the Prairie Maison Care Center in Prairie du Chien. 

She was born June 28, 1926 in Prairie du Chien the daughter of Wilbur and Anna (Zweifel) Weighner. She married Sterlie Rybarczyk in 1949 at St. Gabriel’s Church in Prairie du Chien. He preceded her in death on July 2, 1993. Doris assisted in the operation of the family business, Prairie Petroleum Products for many years. She was an active member of St. John’s Church and enjoyed playing bridge.

Linda Delury

 

Linda Susan Delury passed away on June 29, in Seattle, Wash. 

She was born April 5, 1955, to Leo Delury and Rosemary (Panka). Linda was a gentle, kind soul who spent her entire adult life in the care of others. Linda will be greatly missed by her surviving brothers and sister, Mary, Tom, Paul, Dennis and Michael. A private gathering was held in Wisconsin, the family’s home state. In memory of Linda, the family welcomes donations to the Pike Market Senior Center where Linda had many friends,85 Pike Place Hillclimb Walk, Seattle, WA 98101.
