Patricia “Pat” M. Mezera, age 90 of Prairie du Chien passed away peacefully on Tuesday, July 18, 2023, at Prairie Maison in Prairie du Chien. She was born in La Crosse, WI on December 25, 1932, the daughter of Rhodell and Hazel (O’Connell) Klema.

Robert (Bob) F. Titlbach

Bob was born on February 3, 1951 in Prairie du Chien, WI to John and Mary (McNamara) Titlbach. He was a life-long resident of Prairie du Chien working for Clinic Care Corporation at Wyalusing Academy. Bob was the physical plant director at Wyalusing, where he and his talented crew kept the facility in top shape. After retiring from Wyalusing, Bob was the morning shift bus driver for the New Frontier Alternative School.

Audrey Rose Freymiller

Audrey Rose (Allen) Freymiller, age 91, Woodman, WI passed away on Sunday, July 16, 2023, at Divine Rehabilitation & Nursing in Fennimore.  She was born on May 30, 1932; the daughter of Ora and Margaret (Stluka) Allen. Audrey grew up on her family farm in Eastman and after graduating from Prairie du Chien High School, she moved to Boscobel. After high school, Audrey worked in the dental office for a short time. She obtained her pilot’s certificate and was very proud of her first time flying a plane.

Pauline R. Clanton

Pauline R. Clanton, age 77 of Prairie du Chien passed away Saturday, July 15, 2023, at Crossing Rivers Health in Prairie du Chien. She was born in Prairie du Chien on January 16, 1946, the daughter of Paul and Laurayne (Phillip) Prew. She graduated from Prairie du Chien High School with the class of 1964 before moving to Minneapolis, MN, where she worked for a telephone company and later an insurance company. Upon moving back to Prairie du Chien, she began working for 3M Company. Pauline married Larry Clanton on May 6, 1972, in Prairie du Chien and together they raised two sons in the community.

Patricia Anne (Check) Walz

Patricia Anne (Check) Walz, age 80, of Glen Haven and Lancaster, passed away on Sunday, July 9, 2023, at her home in Lancaster.  She was born on March 18, 1943, the daughter of Anthony and Cecelia (Kozelka) Check.  Pat was united in marriage to Eugene Francis Walz on August 22, 1964.  Pat and Gene lived in Glen Haven until 2017 when they moved to Lancaster. Together they raised four children.  Pat was a stay-at-home mother until their youngest child was a senior in high school.

Phil F. Redman

Phil F. Redman, age 90 of Patch Grove, Wisc. passed away Saturday, July 1, 2023, at Mayo Clinic Health System in La Crosse. He was born in a cabin on Dark Hollow near Millville, Wisc. on July 23, 1932, the son of Floyd and Lola (Oates) Redman. Phil grew up on the family farm on Campbell Ridge where he helped his father with logging and other pertinent tasks. His love of horses stemmed from logging work.

Leonard Zabel

A Determined Man.
Leonard lived his life to the fullest alongside family and friends, while he farmed, and enjoyed his hobbies, which included raising and judging hogs, playing, and coaching sports, and playing cards.
Leonard peacefully left his legacy here on Earth on July 9, 2023.
He was born July 14, 1938, to Walter and Helena Zabel.
He graduated from Prairie du Chien High School in 1956, where he was competitive in basketball and football. He also was an active member in FFA.
He met Mary Lou Severson in high school, and they married on September 20, 1958. Together they bought the family farm from James and Louise Fisher, Mary Lou’s grandparents, and continued the purebred Chester White hog genetics and operation. Later added the purebred Hampshire line to their herd.
