Roberta J. Chrystal

 

Roberta J. Chrystal, 87, a long-term resident of eastern Iowa, died on Tuesday, Dec. 3, 2013, in Alpharetta, Ga.

Visitation was Wednesday, Dec. 11,  at Cedar Memorial Park Funeral Home, Cedar Rapids.

Funeral services were Thursday, Dec. 12, at Golden Congregational UCC Church in Ryan.

Roberta was born on Jan. 2, 1926, near Ryan.  She was a grade/high school teacher in Nemaha, Garnavillo and Ryan Public School systems. Her life was devoted to her family, church and community service.

Dr. A.A. Frommelt

 

Dr. A.A. "Bud" Frommelt, 85, of DeWitt, died Wednesday afternoon, Dec. 4, 2013, at Mercy Hospital in Dubuque.

Visitation was Sunday, Dec. 8, at Schultz Funeral Home, DeWitt.

Funeral services were Monday, Dec. 9, at St. Joseph Catholic Church, DeWitt.

Burial and military rites were at the church cemetery. Pallbearers were the grandchildren.

Daniel Lee Melsha, 53, of Cedar Rapids, died Saturday, Dec. 14, 2013, in St. Luke’s Hospital, Cedar Rapids. 

 

Visitation was Wednesday, Dec. 18, at Cedar Memorial Chapel of Memories, Cedar Rapids.

 

Funeral services were Thursday, Dec. 19, at Cedar Memorial Chapel of Memories, Cedar Rapids.

Terry Walters, 65, of Earlville passed away Saturday, Nov. 16, 2013, at his home.

Visitation was Wednesday, Nov. 20, at the Clifton-Murdoch Funeral Home and Cremation Services in Earlville and one hour before services at the church.

Funeral services were Thursday, Nov. 21, at the United Parish Church in Earlville, conducted by Pastor Jill Mack. 

Burial was at the Brown Cemetery, Colesburg.

Henry Kann Jr., 86, of Guttenberg, died Saturday, Nov. 23, 2013, at the Guttenberg Municipal Hospital.

Visitation was before services at the church.

Funeral services were Wednesday, Nov. 27, at St. Mary’s Catholic Church in Guttenberg, Rev. Marvin Bries officiating.

Arrangements are being handled by Tuecke-Allyn Funeral Home and Cremation Service, Guttenberg.

Eldon R. Swisher, 88, of Garnavillo, died Wednesday, Nov. 20, 2013, at the Guttenberg Municipal Hospital.

Visitation was Friday, Nov. 22, at Tuecke-Allyn Funeral Home and Cremation Service, Garnavillo, and one hour before services at the church.

Funeral services were Saturday, Nov. 23, at St. Joseph Catholic Church, Garnavillo, conducted by Rev. Marvin Bries.

Interment was at St. Joseph's Cemetery in Garnavillo.

Beverly Ruth (McKinney) Dubbels, 83, of Guttenberg, died Saturday, Nov. 23, 2013, at Mercy Medical Center in Dubuque.

Visitation was Tuesday, Nov. 26, at Tuecke-Allyn Funeral Home and Cremation Service, Guttenberg, and one hour before services at the church.

Funeral services were Wednesday, Nov. 27, at St. Paul Lutheran Church, Guttenberg, conducted by Rev. Shane Anderson.

Interment was at Cedar Memorial Cemetery in Cedar Rapids.

Gerri L. Moser

 

Gerri Lynn Moser was born in Guttenberg on Sept. 20, 1963, to Clark and Janet Moser. She was the fourth child in a family of six, she was mother to two, and she cared deeply for her numerous four-legged companions. Gerri was baptized and confirmed at St. John’s American Lutheran Church. She graduated from Guttenberg High School with the class of 1982 and received a B.A. from the University of Northern Iowa. She lived with passion for the present, with hope for the future, and with deep love of all living things.

Vivian Margery Laura Meyer, 84, of Garnavillo, died Friday, Nov. 8, 2013, at the Guttenberg Municipal Hospital.

Visitation was Tuesday, Nov. 12, at Tuecke-Allyn Funeral Home and Cremation Service, Garnavillo, and one hour before services at the church.

Funeral services were  Wednesday, Nov. 13, at St. Paul's Lutheran Church, Garnavillo, conducted by Rev. Wayne Ellingson.

Carl L. Ulbrich

 

Carl L. Ulbrich passed away peacefully on Oct. 30, 2013, after a lengthy illness.

Funeral services were Tuesday, Nov. 5, at St. Elizabeth Ann Seton Parish.

Carl will be remembered as a beloved husband, father, grandfather and great-grandfather. He was a man of integrity who lived out his faith and who gave all he had to his family. He will be greatly missed. A hallmark of Carl's life was his giving nature. He was passionate about giving to the poor and anyone in need, both here in Alaska and around the world. His children are grateful for his strength of character and giving heart.
