Adults over 65 eligible for COVID-19 vaccine Monday

Yesterday (Jan. 19), the Wisconsin Department of Health Services (DHS) announced that adults over the age of 65 will be eligible for the COVID-19 vaccine beginning Monday, Jan. 25. Currently, frontline health care workers, residents in long term care facilities (nursing homes and assisted living facilities), and police and fire personnel are eligible.

2021 Eagles Telethon online only, donations still accepted


The Eagles Heart and Cancer Telethon will only air online this year, in modified form—a change made due to COVID-19 health and safety concerns. Dan Moris is producing and hosting the show, Jan. 30, from 6-10 p.m. at eaglestelethon.org. Donations are still very much encouraged. (Courier file photo)

Woman rescued from slough after trying to save her dog


Prairie du Chien Police Department body cam footage shows several law enforcement officers and fire department personnel responding Friday to the St. Feriole Island Slough, where a woman fell through the ice. They were able to rescue both the woman and her dog.
