Registered Nurse Ben Harris, from Crossing Rivers Health, spent his day at the Armory vaccinating county residents at the clinic.

Michelle Breuer, public health nurse, was one of only two women carefully drawing up the Pfizer vaccine, alongside her colleague Cindy Riniker.

Livestreamed telethon raises nearly $30K


The 2021 alternate Eagles Heart and Cancer Telethon was livestreamed online only, as the typical televised portion was canceled. This year’s efforts raised $28,625 toward heart disease and cancer research, and the donations are still coming in. (Submitted photo)

Prairie Catholic successful with five days in person through COVID-19


Especially when group work is necessary, the students at Prairie Catholic have been diligent about wearing their masks.

Prairie Catholic School has been careful about masks, distancing, sanitizing, etc. in order to keep its student body in the building for learning five days per week.

2021 telethon has extra special meaning for Courier associate editor


At UW Health, the nursing staff got Nick Morgan, an open heart patient, up and walking nearly as soon as he awoke from surgery.

On the day of discharge after heart surgery, Nick was ready to go home to recover and start the next stages of preparation for a pancreas and kidney transplant.

Adults over 65 eligible for COVID-19 vaccine Monday

Yesterday (Jan. 19), the Wisconsin Department of Health Services (DHS) announced that adults over the age of 65 will be eligible for the COVID-19 vaccine beginning Monday, Jan. 25. Currently, frontline health care workers, residents in long term care facilities (nursing homes and assisted living facilities), and police and fire personnel are eligible.
