Donna Marie Pont, 78, of Guttenberg, died Wednesday, June 2, 2021.

Visitation was Saturday, June 5, at Tuecke-Allyn Funeral Home, Guttenberg. Followed by graveside services at Ceres Cemetery.

Donna was born on May 14, 1943, in Waterloo, the daughter of Harold and Evelyn Junk. Donna grew up in Waterloo where she graduated from Columbus Catholic High School with the class of 1961. On March 10, 1968, Donna was united in marriage with David Pont in Waterloo.

The Guttenberg Municipal Swimming Pool opened for the 2021 season on June 3. The pool has 25 full and part time employees and two volunteer staff members. "Al Ullerich and I serve as the adult volunteers," said volunteer Bec Knudtson. "City employee Jamie Blume serves as the main resource and all around right-hand woman for the pool staff out of the city office. Our certified pool operators are Dan Walke, Dan Pierce and Kylie Bolsinger, and they oversee the operations of the pool — in other words, they make sure the pool is up and running every day." 

The American Red Cross will hold a community blood drive in Guttenberg at St. John's Lutheran Church, 203 Pearl Street, on Monday, June 14, from 1-5 p.m.
