River Ridge get last second win over Highland

Oktoberfest reveals 2023 button design contest winner

Members of the Oktoberfest Committee assembled at the Prairie du Chien Memorial Library on Aug. 17 to announce the winning design for the 2023 Oktoberfest buttons.

In attendance for the announcement were Mike Ulrich, event organizer; Harry Remz, Committee President; Greg Sedbrook, committee member; Allie Burbach, food judge; Carrie Nolan, Oktoberfest social media contributor; Lexi Ogdahl; Elizabeth Byers, Library Director; and Cassie Hubanks.

Fillback cuts ribbon for remodel, event

Fillback Auto’s Prairie du Chien location celebrated a grand re-opening on Aug. 18 with a bevy of attractions and a ribbon-cutting ceremony  in tandem with the Prairie du Chien Chamber of Commerce.

The re-opening ceremony was conducted at 4 p.m.

PDC education board approves handbooks

The Prairie du Chien Board of Education reviewed the proposed 2023-24 student handbook during their monthly meeting on Aug. 14. Doug Morris, Prairie du Chien High School Principal, was on hand for the discussion.

Morris outlined the cellphone policy, which had been adjusted from the 2022-23 school year.
