Classic and joyful: Zeeh enjoys lighting up Christmas

Shawn Zeeh dedicates a lot of time, creativity and handiwork in decorating his house and entire lot at 1103 E. Main St., in Wauzeka. All are invited to swing by to admire and experience the magic of Christmas from his nostalgic perspective. (Photos by Correne Martin)

This is just a sneak peek of the front of Shawn Zeeh’s home in Wauzeka. In addition to every corner of his home’s exterior being illuminated, he has buildings in the back yard set up like Santa’s village, and so much more.

The iconic dog, Snoopy, from the Peanuts cartoons, is displayed in the front yard alongside his best-decorated dog house.

A reindeer stable and Santa’s workshop are two classically decorated sheds on Zeeh’s property. People of all ages should also enjoy classic character cutouts like the ones in this scene from “Frosty the Snowman.”

Riverside property zoning designation causes hassle

Morning frost emerges Wednesday morning from the property at 400 W. Blackhawk Ave., in Prairie du Chien, owned by Tom Nelson. This site—which was once a tourist spot, Willy and Nellies—finally received fill this week, bringing it out of the floodplain and making it a more developable property. (Photo by Correne Martin)
