Suzanne M. “Susie” Walker March 18, 1950 - February 22, 2021

Suzanne M. “Susie” Walker, 70, of Prairie du Chien, passed away Monday, Feb. 22, 2021, after a hard-fought battle with cancer. She was born on March 18, 1950, to Gertrude and Ervin Walker in Seneca, the youngest of four girls. She worked at many different jobs over the years, including Tony’s Grill and McGregor Electronics before settling in at 3M in Prairie du Chien. She worked primarily at the old 3M plant, which is now the site of the county offices, for 34 years, retiring 12 years ago. Susie had a special place in her heart for animals and had many pets over the years including fish, birds, cats, and dogs. Her pets were like her children and she loved each of them dearly.

Two Prairie du Chien-Fennimore gymnasts heading to State Meet


Two Prairie du Chien/Fennimore gymnasts qualified for the State Gymnastics Meet to be held in Onalaska on Feb. 27. Madilyn Fisher is on left and Alyssa Schoepp is on the right. Fisher will compete on the vault. She placed fifth at the sectional meet with a score of 9.15. Schoepp will compete on the floor exercise. She placed fourth at the sectional with a score of 9.025.

Madison Otts performs in the floor exercise at the sectional meet. Otts added a more difficult leap pass and a tumbling pass for the sectional.

On Thursday, Feb. 18, the Prairie du Chien/Fennimore gymnastics team traveled to Onalaska for the Sectional Meet. 

The team placed seventh with the second-highest score of the season, 123.95. River Falls placed first with a score of 140.90. Sparta finished in second place with a score of 136.225.

On Saturday, Feb. 20, Adams/Friendship was the host of the WIAA D2 Team State Wrestling Championships. PDC was in the tournament for the second straight year, and were looking to make some noise following last year’s one point loss in the semifinals. The four teams at State were made up of some very good wrestlers, many of them State Champs, Placewinners, and Qualifiers. Here’s a quick reference as to just how good these teams are:
