Crawford County gets $3.1 million

Crawford County has received funding in the amount of $3,133,258 for the American Rescue Plan Act (ARPA). Part of the guidance allows for outside entities that have programs that qualify under the ARPA Guidance to receive funding from the county.

A special feature about the fight against cancer


The first ever Lighted Lantern Launch raised $2,821.75 and also enhanced togetherness and a sense of community for Prairie du Chien area families. (Photos submitted)

The Rally on the River Volleyball Tournament was held in conjunction with the Lighted Lantern Launch on St. Feriole Island.

The River Ridge volleyball team raised $300 on its Pink Night in 2021. The money, along with $80 won by Jeanie Vogt in a 50-50 raffle that night, was donated to the Grant County Cancer Coalition.

Thomas J. Kozelka

Thomas J. Kozelka, 84, of Prairie du Chien, passed away peacefully Friday, Oct. 22, 2021, at home surrounded by family. 

He was born June 6, 1937, the son of Ralph and Albina (Balk) Kozelka. Thomas graduated from Campion Jesuit High School in Prairie du Chien. Thomas, along with his sister Marie Wall and brother Richard Kozelka, managed Kozelka’s Men’s Wear and Western Wear for many years. Thomas married Janet Obmascher on May 19, 1959, at St. John’s Catholic Church in Prairie du Chien.
