Helen G. “Jenny” Peak, 93, of Prairie du Chien, formerly of Boscobel, passed away Tuesday, May 12, 2020, at Prairie Maison nursing home in Prairie du Chien.

She was born April 6, 1927, in Berwyn, Ill., the daughter of Herman and Edna (Kloeppel) Jensen. She married Thaddeus Peak on July 28, 1951.

Beloved wife, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother, Jenny Peak spent many years as a homemaker and pastor’s wife. She could be counted on to help women and children in need, even sheltering them in her home when necessary. When she was 55, she was very proud to have obtained her much longed for GED from Southwest Tech in Fennimore. She was then employed by the Fennimore public library and CESA as well as by a private enterprise owner. She spent several years living in Florida and working at a clothing store. Jenny had many interests, which included ceramics, handcrafts, decorating for bridal and baby showers and other special events, and writing poetry. She wrote several articles for the Fennimore Times regarding the history of its famous train, The Dinky. She loved being a prison ministry volunteer for a number of years. She also was a member of Faith Community Church in Prairie du Chien, where she volunteered her services in the church office, writing and directing holiday programs, decorating for special events, and submitting poems for the church newsletter. She was known for her sassy wit, her love for the Lord Jesus Christ, her deep thoughts about God’s Word, her generosity, and her fierce loyalty to her family.

Helen “Jenny” Peak is survived by her faithful husband of nearly 69 years, Thaddeus Peak, of Prairie du Chien; her daughters Sharon (Bob) Meier, Becky Sipla, and Molly Ford; her son Tad (Rachel) Peak; seven grandchildren; 13 great-grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews, with special mention of Lance Crivellone.

She was preceded in death by her parents, as well as all her siblings, Herman, Edna, Dorothy, Henry, and Elizabeth.

A memorial service is being planned for a future date. Garrity Funeral Home of Prairie du Chien is assisting the family.
