Prairie du Chien School District’s motion in civil suit denied
A motion for a summary judgement in a lawsuit brought against the Prairie du Chien School District by the family of a Prairie du Chien boy has been dismissed.
Dennis and Talmadge Knight are suing the district and its employees for negligence, claiming that a principal caused a chemical burn on Talmadge’s hand while he was in middle school.
Earlier this year, the school district filed a motion for a summary judgement, but La Crosse County Circuit Court Judge Todd Bjerke has denied the motion.
A jury acquitted Aaron Amundson during a trial in August of 2018 in Crawford County Circuit Court.
The lawsuit demands $50,000 in compensation for damages sustained by Talmadge.
The next hearing in the civil case is scheduled for June 18.
