Edward William Fritsche
Edward William Fritsche, 75, of Salinas, Calif. and formerly of Prairie du Chien, passed away Monday, Sept. 16, 2019, in Salinas, Calif.
He was born Oct. 15, 1943, in Prairie du Chien, son of Edward and Ludmila (Balk) Fritsche.
He married Patricia Cardine on Sept. 20, 1969, at St. Gabriel’s Catholic Church in Prairie du Chien. He lived in California for 39 years. He worked mainly in law enforcement and construction.
He is survived by his wife, Patricia; and two sons, Michael (Silvia) and Steven (Jennifer); three grandchildren, Grace, Sean and Joseph; four sisters, Anne (John) Rink, Mary Frydenlund, and Rose (Jerry) Wright of Prairie du Chien, Margaret (Jim) of Trotwood, Ohio.
He was preceded by a stillborn son David Joseph; three brothers, Charles, Robert and William of Prairie du Chien; sisters, Theresa Morel of Muscoda and Elizabeth Berns of Prairie du Chien.
A Memorial Mass will be Saturday Oct. 12, at 11 a.m. at St. Joseph’s Catholic Church in Spreckels, Calif. Private interment will be at Queen of Heaven cemetery in Prunedale, Calif.
