Luana’s small-town pride will be on full display Saturday and Sunday, Aug. 24 and 25, for the annual Luana Daze celebration.

Sponsored by the Luana Community Club, events will kick off Saturday morning, with a pancake, egg and sausage breakfast from 8 to 10:30 a.m. Bloody Mary’s and mimosas, courtesy of Luana Tap, will also be available.

The second annual Luana Daze parade will begin at 11 a.m. Line-up starts at 10 a.m. at Cherry Valley/Zieman’s Shop, on Dolphin Avenue. From there, the route will head to Main Street, then on to Church Street and Truman Street before ending on Burges Street.

After the parade, stay downtown for kid’s activities from noon to 3 p.m., including a kid’s pedal tractor pull at 1:30 p.m.

Attendees can also enjoy Sautter’s Car Show from noon to 2 p.m. and a Smokey Burnout Contest, sponsored by Superior Auto, at 3 p.m.

A bean bag tournament will commence at 1:30 p.m.

Food will be another highlight of the day, with the Luana Fire Department serving brats and hot dogs early on, then ribeye sandwiches from 5 to 9 p.m.

Get ready to party at 9 p.m., when the 13th annual Luana Tap street dance gets underway. Local band Smoking Gun Showdown will entertain with a variety of rock and country hits until 1 a.m. There is no cover charge.

The Luana Daze fun continues on Sunday with the popular tractor pull. Registration starts at 10:30 a.m., and the pull at noon. The firemen will serve ribeye sandwiches and brats throughout the event.
