Cheryl “Chuck” Bruce Siebrecht, 75, died July 22, 2019, at MercyOne Hospital in Des Moines. He was a lifelong resident of Garnavillo and had recently moved to Altoona.

The son of Valmah and Magdelen (Thiese) Siebrecht, he was born July 23, 1943, at the family farm in rural St. Olaf. Following graduation in 1961 from Garnavillo Community School, Chuck joined the Air Force and was honorably discharged in 1964. After proudly serving his country, he returned home to Clayton County, where he owned and operated a real estate and insurance business for several decades.

Chuck enjoyed spending time with his family and was involved in several local communities. He particularly enjoyed serving his fellow veterans and took great pride in being a Veteran’s Service Officer for Clayton County, where he helped several veterans receive medical help.

Chuck married Elaine Eberhardt and together they had three sons. Following Elaine’s death, Chuck found love again and married Jane (Matt) Collins.

Survivors include his wife of 41 years, Jane; sons, Scott (Maria), Aaron (Cathleen), and Mark; grandchildren, Anastasia, Cael, and Mary; and brother, Bud Siebrecht.

Chuck was preceded in death by his wife, Elaine, and sisters, Valene Lau and Sharon Keehner.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions can be made to the NE Iowa Food Bank or the Puppy Jake Foundation.
