Marie A. Jenson, of Monona, and formerly of McGregor, Iowa, died Friday, May 31, 2019, at her son’s residence in Monona.

Marie Antoinette Barrette was born Oct. 11, 1938, in Eastman. She was the daughter of Roland and Emma (Phillips) Barrette. 

She received her education in Prairie du Chien, graduating with the class of 1957. On June 21, 1958, she was united in marriage to Stanley Jenson at St. Gabriel’s Catholic Church in Prairie du Chien. Marie worked as a nurse’s aid, at McGregor Loudspeaker and 3M in Prairie du Chien. 

She is survived by six children, Eric Jenson (Kyle Barnes) of Monona, Angela Meyer of Fort Atkinson, Christopher (Dana) Jenson of Colesburg, Iowa, Brenda Jenson of McGregor, Mickie (Brian) Ruff of Onalaska, and Stanley (Brenda) Jenson of Boscobel; six grandchildren, Tristan (Elaura) Jenson, Christina (Steven) Adney, Matthew Jenson, Nicholas Jenson, Jennifer Herman and Tyler Herman; eight great-grandchildren; one brother, Phil (Doris) Barrette of Prairie du Chien; two sisters, Josephine Donahue of West Virginia and Virginia Powell of Aurora, Ill.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Stanley in 2007; grandson, David Herman and several brothers and sisters. 

A Celebration of Life will be at a later date. 

Leonard-Grau Funeral Home and Cremation Service, Monona, Iowa is helping the family with the arrangements.
