Wauzeka boys top Weston
Wauzeka-Steuben topped visiting Weston 8-5 in a Ridge and Valley baseball game Monday.
The Silver Eagles led the Hornets 2-1 after the first inning.
Wauzeka-Steuben scored 3 in the second inning to grab the lead at 4-2.
Weston scored a run in the top of the third but Wauzeka-Steuben scored twice in the bottom half to go up 6-3.
The Hornets took the fifth inning 2-1 to increase the margin to 8-4.
The Silver Eagles scored a run in the sixth, but the Hornets held them the rest of the way to take the victory.
Wauzeka-Steuben had 12 hits and 1 error. Weston had 8 hits and committed 4 errors.
Jacob Reichmann was 2x4. Jonah Reichmann was 2x4. Kaleb Marx was 3x4.
Jaden Berger earned the win. He fanned 5 and walked 3 while surrendering 5 hits and 3 earned runs in 5 innings. Nate Benish struck out 1 and walked 2 while giving up 3 hits and a run in 2 innings.
