Rosella Bayliss, 95, of Keota, died Wednesday, May 1, 2019, at the McCreedy Home in Washington.

Visitation was Sunday, May 5, at Powell Funeral Home in Keota.

Funeral services were Monday, May 6, at Holy Trinity Parish - St. Mary Catholic Church in Keota, conducted by Rev. Charles Fladung.

Burial was at Holy Trinity Cemeteries - St. Mary’s Cemetery in Keota.

Rosella was born September 12, 1923, in Clear Creek Township the daughter of Nick and Clara (Mersch) Sieren. She attended school at Saints Peter and Paul Catholic School. On March 26, 1946, Rosella was united in marriage to Leonard Bayliss at Saints Peter and Paul Catholic Church. She has lived in Keokuk County her entire life where she was a homemaker. Rosella was a member of Holy Trinity Parish St Mary Catholic Church, Altar and Rosary and she was a 4-H leader. She enjoyed gardening, sewing, quilting and family history.

Survivors include seven children, Joyce Cherne of Guttenberg, Richard (Cyndy) Bayliss of Ottumwa, Tom Bayliss of Riverside, Donald (Renita) Bayliss of Wellman, Gary (Joen) Bayliss of Keota, Janet (Paul) Jacobs of Ottumwa and Carol (Chris) Jacobsen of Pine, Colo.; 20 grandchildren; 38 great-grandchildren; a son-in-law, David Hasenmiller of DeWitt, two brothers Howard Sieren of Ottumwa and Fremont (Marilyn) Sieren of Sigourney, and a sister-in-law, Zelma Sieren of Sigourney.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband; a daughter, Rosemary Hasenmiller; a grandson, Michael Bayliss; son-in-law, Vernon Cherne; four sisters, Evelyn Weber, LuAnna Weber, Isabelle Beinhart, Luvina Bayliss; and four brothers, Forrest, Harvey, LeRoy and Clarence Sieren.

A general memorial fund has been established. Powell Funeral Home and Cremation Service in Keota is caring for Rosella and her family.
