Amy Jo Less, 34, of Durango, formerly of Guttenberg, left this world with a peaceful smile on her face, Thursday, May 2, 2019, at Finley Hospital in Dubuque, after a courageous battle with metastatic breast cancer.

Visitation was Sunday, May 5, at Tuecke-Allyn Funeral Home, Guttenberg.

There will be a private family service at a later date.

Amy Jo was born in Dubuque on Nov. 16, 1984, the daughter of Paul Anderegg and Linda Augustine Bures and was the classic first born child.

Amy Jo attended Clayton Ridge Schools K-12. Amy Jo graduated from Clayton Ridge High School with the class of 2003. She attended Wartburg College for a year, but was determined there was more to life and joined the military.

During her military service, she was married and gave birth to her biggest pride and joy, Ethan. She completed her Bachelor’s degree at the Military University. Amy moved back to Guttenberg to be closer to family and friends. Amy has worked at John Deere in Dubuque for the past 7 years in various positions, most recently as a Supply Management Specialist. While working at John Deere, Amy met Bill Less. Bill and Amy went on trips and had lots of fun traveling the country. They decided to take another adventure and married on Sept. 11, 2015. She embraced her role as step mom to Jillian and mom to Ethan. Amy also went on to complete her Master’s degree at the University of Wisconsin Platteville.

She had a blunt sense of humor that some loved, and some not so much. She enjoyed a cold beer and good conversation with friends. She was a loving wife, and caring daughter. Amy’s philosophy was come on, just do it. She enjoyed talks with her mom, and would go on adventures with her. Amy’s mom was her biggest supporter.

During her battle with cancer she was a source of inspiration for everyone who knew her. She had a positive outlook on life and never felt sorry for herself. Amy's niece and nephew held a special place in Amy’s heart. She was a force of nature and there will never be another like her.

Amy Jo will be forever loved and cherished by her husband, Bill; son, Ethan Larson; step daughter, Jillian Less; mother, Linda (Dave) Bures; father, Paul (Janet) Anderegg; siblings, Andrea Anderegg (Chad Heidemann), Savanah and Brayer, Josh (Hilary) Anderegg and Vayda, Amber Anderegg; maternal grandparents, Richard and Mary Lou Augustine as well as step siblings, Sam, Dan, Krystal and Joel Tootell and many other relatives and friends.

Amy Jo was preceded in death by her paternal grandparents, Robert and Esther Anderegg.

In lieu of flowers and all styles of sympathy, a memorial fund has been established and memorials may be made out to the Amy Jo Less Memorial and sent to 16479 Boy Scout Rd, Durango IA 52039.
