Harvey L. Kimball II
Harvey L. Kimball II of Circle Pines, Minn., was called to his eternal home on Nov. 14, 2018, at the age of 70.
Harvey was born on July 24, 1948, in Waterloo, to Harvey L. and Bette M. (Briar) Kimball.
He grew up in Grundy Center, and graduated from Grundy Center Community High School in 1967. Growing up, he spent most of his summers in Guttenberg, living with his grandmother, Effie M. Kimball, on Abel's Island.
He did a 4-year stint in the U.S. Navy as a Fire Control Technician on a Destroyer Escort, and he earned a degree in accounting from the University of Northern Iowa.
Later he worked as a lease consultant and as an administrative assistant in his father's law firm. Unfortunately, he suffered from the disease of diabetes. Complications from diabetes are what led to his death.
Harvey's kindness and good nature will be sorely missed by his family and friends. He will always be remembered for his strong belief system. No one could persuade
Harvey to do anything that he knew in his heart that he should not do, regardless of the consequences. Harvey enjoyed traveling. He especially enjoyed traveling to rock concerts with Trevor, his son from his marriage to his former wife, Susan (Eulberg) Kimball. He loved movies, public television programs, dogs, cats, and the Mississippi River.
He will be sadly missed by his former wife, Susan (Eulberg) Kimball, of Rochester, Minn.; his current wife, Ruth; his brother, Bill, of Tomah, Wis.; his cousins, Mickey K. (Zearley) Healy of Guttenberg; Christopher K. Zearley of Tucson, Ariz.; and Karen (Zearley) Bird of Guttenberg; and by his uncles, Roger and Richard Briar, both of Berkeley, Calif.
He was preceded in death by his father and mother; by his brother, John; and by his beloved son, Trevor.
Harvey will be laid to rest in an official military Burial at Sea at San Diego, Calif., which will be performed by the U.S. Navy.
Memorial donations may be made to the Cystic Fibrosis Foundation or to the ASPIRE Therapeutic Riding Program of Waterloo.
