Delores M. “Tootie” Fischer, 84, of Prairie du Chien, passed away Sunday, Nov. 18, at the Prairie Maison Care Center. 

She was born Oct. 7, 1934 in Luana, Iowa the daughter of William and Ella (Funk) Moeller. She married Donald Fischer on Nov. 8, 1956. She and her husband owned and operated Fischer Construction, which was formerly Mezera and Fischer Construction in Prairie du Chien. Tootie was a member of the VFW Auxiliary for many years. Don preceded her in death on Nov. 13, 2010. She is survived by her children, Peggy Fischer, Bill (Jodi) and Paul Fischer, all of Prairie du Chien; her grandchildren, Hali and Cory Fischer; brother-in-law Ken Wilkins, of La Crosse; sister-in-law Norma Moeller, of Dyersville, Iowa, along with many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband; her brothers, Irvin, Pete and Orlando; along with her sisters, Irene Meyer, Grace Wilkins and Florence Moeller.

A Memorial Mass of Christian Burial will be Wednesday, Nov. 21, at 11 a.m. at St. John’s Church of the Holy Family Parish in Prairie du Chien, with Rev. James Weighner officiating. Interment will be at a later date in the Calvary Cemetery, Prairie du Chien. Friends may call at the church on Wednesday from 10 a.m. until the time of the Mass. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the VFW. The Garrity Funeral Home of Prairie du Chien is assisting the family.
