Three area runners headed to state cross country meet

Three area cross country runners earned a trip to the state cross country meet to be held on Oct. 27 at the Ridges Golf Course in Wisconsin Rapids.

Meg Katzung and Amber Huser of Prairie du Chien finished third and fourth in the Division 2 girls sectional on a cold, windy and sometimes snowy day at the Spring Green Golf Course Saturday morning.

Katzung, a sophomore, qualified for state with a time of 20:25. Huser, a senior, had a time of 20:30. The girls ran together around the course.

Jacob Reichmann of Wauzeka-Steuben took seventh in the boys meet at the Division 3 Boscobel Sectional on Saturday morning. Reichmann, a junior, had a time of 17:23.5 to qualify for state for the second year in a row.
