Two-car accident at end of Boscobel Bridge

On Tuesday, July 31, at 2:15 p.m., the Crawford County Dispatch Center was notified of a two-car crash on Highway 60 at Highway 61 at the end of the Boscobel Bridge.

LaVerne Wallace, 63, Prairie du Chien, pulled out from a stop sign in his 2013 Chevy Cruze in front of an eastbound 2012 Jeep Patriot driven by Howard Balch, 79, of rural Boscobel.

Balch and his passenger Shirley Balch, 77, sustained bumps and bruises, but did not require medical treatment.

Wallace sustained a left arm cut and did not require medical treatment.

Balch’s vehicle sustained front end damage and was towed. Wallace’s vehicle sustained left side damage and was towed.

Wallace was cited for failure to yield from a stop sign.

Assisting at the scene were the Boscobel Police Department, Boscobel Rescue Squad, Boscobel Fire Department, Terry’s Tire and Tow and Milo’s Towing.
