Mount Hope man arrested in Platteville after two week hunt
Derek Eastlick, 37, of Mount Hope, who has been wanted for the past two weeks on outstanding warrants, was arrested while police were investigating a battery report at a home in Platteville on July 22. He was wanted on multiple charges and warrants through both Wisconsin and Iowa that include eluding police, driving with a revoked license and having an open container while driving.
According to Platteville police, Eastlick was found in the house while they were checking out a battery incident. Once they knew he was there, they got a search warrant, but Eastlick reportedly jumped out of a window and ran off.
Officers also set up a perimeter with assisting area-police tactical squads and arrested Eastlick a short time later.
Two people were taken out of the house. Police continue to investigate the battery incident.
Traffic was disrupted on Adams and Lancaster Streets for about four hours.
