Robert “Bob” Glesne Meyer 96, of Arvada, CO passed away gently on May 10th, 2018. Bob was born on November 18, 1921 to Clifton and Milda Meyer in Giard Township, Clayton County, Iowa. He graduated from Elkader High School in 1938 and attended Oklahoma A & M now known as Oklahoma State University where he received a degree in Agricultural Economics and a Lifetime Teaching Certificate in Social Studies.

In 1942, Bob enlisted in the United States Army Air Corp now known as the United States Air Force. He spent his tour during WWII in England and was present during the blitz attack. Bob was a proud veteran of the United States Air Force and was honorably discharged in 1945. He was a lifetime member of the American Legion and was also a member of the NAARF.

He married Lorene M. Ehrlich on December 29, 1946, in Russell, Kansas. Together they had two children Roberta and Barbara. After leaving the armed forces Bob became a United States Postman for many years. He was very proud to be a devoted member of Peace Lutheran Church in Arvada, Colorado and worshipped there with Lorene for many years. 

Bob is survived by his lovely wife of 71 years Lorene, his daughter Roberta Boyd, his brother John Meyer, and sister Aileen Renkel.

He was preceded in death by his parents Clifton and Milda, his daughter Barbara Suzanne Meyer, and his brother Carroll Meyer.

Bob will be missed dearly by Lorene, Roberta, the rest of the family, and many friends at the post office and along his appointed postal route.  

Services were held at 11 a.m. Thursday, May 17, at Peace Lutheran Church, Arvada with committal at the Olinger Crown Hill Cemetery, Wheatridge, CO. Visitation was held Wednesday May 16, from 5-7:30 p.m. at the Olinger Crown Hill Mortuary in Wheatridge.
