Constance “Connie” Sylvester, 71, of Elkader, died Thursday, April 5, 2018, at St. Luke's Hospital in Cedar Rapids.

Visitation was Monday, April 9, at Tuecke-Allyn Funeral Home, Garnavillo and before services at the church.

Funeral services were Tuesday, April 10, at Bethany Lutheran Church in Elkader.

Connie was born Feb. 9, 1947, the only daughter of Sam and Winnie (Davidson) Liche in Anna, Ill. She graduated from Central High School in Elkader where she lived, loved and worked her entire life.

On June 12, 1965, Connie married the love of her life, for the last 52 years, Larry Sylvester at the Little Brown Church in Nashua. To that union three children were born; Joe, Kari and Dan. Connie could often be found at CJ Lanes in Elkader where she worked for the last 55 years.

Left to cherish her memory are her husband, Larry; children, Joe (Tammy) Sylvester, Kari (Chuck) Seeland, Dan (Tammy) Sylvester; grandchildren, Jacob (Darla) Joshua, Nicholas Sylvester, Zachery Marmann, Andy, Tommy Seeland, Nicole Hall, Madison, Tessa, Tori Sylvester; great-grandchildren, Brantley Marmann and Winnie Sylvester; and one niece, Beth Swan.

Connie is preceded in death by her parents and her brother, Thomas Liche.

In lieu of flowers and all styles of sympathy, the family asks that you send a memorial in Connie’s honor to Hospice of St. Luke’s or the Central Community Hospital in Elkader.
