A woman charged in connection with a crash that injured seven people in a tent at River of Lakes Resort in Bagley Aug. 12 will go to trial on 14 charges in late January.

Stacy Marie Smith, 32, Boscobel, stood mute Nov. 13 to three felony charges of causing great bodily harm by intoxicated use of a motor vehicle, three felony charges of causing great bodily harm by use of a motor vehicle with prohibited alcohol consumption, four misdemeanor counts of causing injury by operating a motor vehicle while under the influence of an intoxicant, and four misdemeanor counts of causing injury by operating a motor vehicle under prohibited alcohol concentration.

Not guilty pleas were entered on Smith’s behalf, according to court records.

Smith was bound over for trial Oct. 27.

The trial is set for Jan. 23 or Jan. 30, with a status conference Jan. 10, according to court records. Each felony charge has a maximum penalty of 3 1/2 years in prison and $10,000 in fines.

Smith is free on $500 bond with the condition she not possess or consume alcohol during the case, or take controlled substances except for prescription.

According to the Grant County Sheriff’s Office, Smith was driving south on Campground Road Aug. 12 around 10:20 p.m. when she tried to make a left turn and lost control of her SUV. The vehicle stopped after hitting the tent, and Smith backed over the tent, the Sheriff’s Office said.

Injured in the crash were six people from Milwaukee — Nathan C. Deicher, 26; Richard Q. Franklin, 28; Alex C. Kindness, 25; Marissa E. Marti, 24; Colin D. Obrien, 25; and Brian J. Walzak, 25 — and Megan A. Marcou, 26, Brookfield.
