Elaine Mary Vorwald, 59, passed away peacefully with her family by her side, Friday, Dec. 1, at UW Hospitals & Clinics in Madison. 

 

She was born April 15, 1958, in Prairie du Chien, the daughter of Robert and Barbara (Woodington) Vorwald.  Elaine lived with her family in Bagley and later became a resident of Central Wisconsin Center where she lived for more than 40 years. She was very happy at CWC, where her infectious laugh and a “hi” to everyone will be truly missed.  Elaine enjoyed music and outings of any kind, especially shopping. 

 

Survivors include her mother, Barbara Vorwald; siblings  Valerie (James) Le Jeune, Sandra (Joseph) Mergen, Robert “Bob” (Karen) Vorwald, Maureen (Colleen McCabe) Vorwald; 12 nieces and nephews; one great-nephew; two aunts Georgia (Eugene) Ertz and her Godmother, Lois Vorwald.

 

Elaine was preceded in death by her father, Robert and members of the Vorwald and Woodington families. 

 

Funeral services will be held on Tuesday, Dec. 5, at 10:30 a.m., at St. Mary’s Catholic Church in Bloomington with Father John Meinholz officiating.  Burial will be in Bagley Cemetery, Bagley. Family and friends may call on Tuesday from 9:30 a.m. until time of services at the church, where a 9:15 a.m. parish rosary will be prayed.
