Shirley Ann Deiter
Shirley Ann Deiter, 59, of Belmont, died on Friday, Oct. 6, at Post Acute Medical in Greenfield.
Shirley was born on Jan. 9, 1958, in Cuba City. When Shirley was 32, she went to live with JoAnn and Richard Crosby, in Belmont. JoAnn and Richard and their children took Shirley in as one of their own. Shirley loved to go anywhere JoAnn went, be it birthday parties, shopping, church, out to eat, or camping, she just liked to be on the go! They made a lot of great memories together throughout the years. Shirley also loved to listen to music. She worked at Southwest Opportunities Center for many years.
Shirley is survived by her caregiver of 26 years, JoAnn Crosby and her children, Bob (Shelia) Hellwig, Jamie (Pam) Hellwig, Gordy (Tracey) Hellwig, and their familes; guardian, Rhonda (Greg) Cerven; and her many friends from Southwest Opportunities Center and the Prairie du Chien Opportunities Center.
Shirley was preceded in death by her co-caregiver, JoAnn’s husband, Richard Crosby. JoAnn, Rhonda and their families would like to thank Lori Knapp Inc. family and especially Pat, Connie and Tami.
Funeral services will be at 5:30 p.m. on Saturday, Oct. 14, at the Melby Funeral Home & Crematory, Platteville. Friends may call from 4 p.m. until the time of the service. Burial will be at Calvary Cemetery, Platteville, at 10 a.m. Monday, Oct. 16. Memorials may be made to the Shirley Deiter Memorial Fund. Online condolences may be made at www.melbyfh.com.
