Restore McGregor 2017 Tornado Fund applications now being accepted
Applications are now being accepted for the Restore McGregor 2017 Tornado Fund.
The fund was established shortly after the July 19 tornado, to help restore, rebuild and aid in the recovery of the destruction caused by the storm. It is intended to be as far-reaching as possible.
Private individuals, families, property owners, non-profits and business owners in McGregor may be eligible for assistance up to $1,000 for storm-related losses.
Examples of appropriate requests include tree removal, tree replacement, insurance deductible costs, repairs to home or property not covered by insurance, replacement/repair of historic storefront items, signage repair, short term rent or alternate lodging displacement due to the storm and vehicle repairs. Assistance will not include upgrades to the applicant’s previous living conditions.
Applications are available at the McGregor City Hall, McGregor Public Library, Interstate Federal Savings and Loan Association and Central State Bank in McGregor. Completed applications, which will be treated in a confidential manner, should be returned to McGregor City Hall. The deadline for receiving completed applications is Monday, Oct. 2, at 4 p.m.
A five-member committee of McGregor residents will review the applications and distribute funds as soon as possible.
If you have any questions about a request for assistance or if you qualify, don’t hesitate to contact city hall at (563) 873-3795.
