Marian Hohensee, 86, of Cedar Rapids, died Tuesday Aug. 8, 2017, at Cottage Grove Place.

Funeral services were Saturday, Aug. 12, at Bethany Lutheran Church, Cedar Rapids, conducted by Pastor Michael Erickson. Visitation was on Friday, Aug. 11, and before service on Saturday at the church.

Burial was at Cedar Memorial Park Cemetery, Cedar Rapids.

Cedar Memorial Park Funeral Home is in charge of the arrangements.

 Marian was born on a farm west of Guttenberg on April 19, 1931, the daughter of Albert and Martha (Backes) Rodenberg. She graduated from Guttenberg High School in 1948 and was employed by the former Northwestern Bell Telephone Company in Cedar Rapids. She retired from U.S. West in Des Moines following 36 years of service. Marian married Williard F. Hohensee at Bethany Lutheran Church on Dec. 13, 1952, in Cedar Rapids.

She is survived by her sons, John (Beth) Hohensee of Cedar Rapids and Mark Hohensee of Collinsville, Okla.; five grandchildren and 11 great-grandchildren, a brother, Orville Rodenberg of Rochester, N.Y., sister-in-law, Helen Rodenberg of Cedar Rapids and many nieces and nephews.

Marian was preceded in death by her husband; her parents; her brother, Harold Rodenberg and her sisters, Neva Crawford and Norma Butters.
