Bernice M. Welsch
Bernice M. Welsch, 91, of Prairie du Chien, passed away Monday, Aug. 14, at the Prairie Maison Care Center.
She was born Oct. 29, 1925, in Prairie du Chien, the daughter of Walter and Anna (Tisthammer) Olson. She married Charles Welsch on June 23, 1951, at St. Peter’s Church in Prairie du Chien. Chuck preceded her in death on Jan. 15, 1995. Bernice worked at Geisler’s Blue Heaven and later retired from 3M Company in Prairie du Chien after 22 years of service. She was an active member of St. Peter’s Church and the Lions Club. Bernice was an avid bowler and enjoyed playing cards.
She is survived by her daughter Susan Bahls and her son Bruce Welsch, both of Prairie du Chien; her grandchildren, Donavan (Cindy) Bahls and their children Danielle and Ben, Melissa (Matthew) Heberlein and their child Jack, Jeffrey Bahls and his child Makenna Puckett, Brittany Stovey and her children Tucker and Lexton.
Bernice was preceded in death by her parents, her husband and a son-in-law Sidney Bahls.
Funeral services will be Friday, Aug. 18, at 11 a.m., at St. Peter’s Lutheran Curch, Pastor Joe Irvin officitiang, with burial in the Evergreen cemetery both in Prairie du Chien. Friends may call at the church on Friday, from 9 a.m. until the time of services. The Garrity Funeral Home of Prairie du Chien is assisting the family.
