Paula Noel Everitt, 62, of Volga,Iowa died Thursday, July 27, 2017, at Palmer Hospital, West Union, Iowa. She was born September, 6, 1954, to Helmer and Ruby (McClane) Peterson. She attended Elkader schools and received her G.E.D in Calmar. Paula continued her education and received her Associates Degree in Medical Transcription. 

Paula was united in marriage with Richard Everitt on April 22, 1970, in Missouri. She owned and operated Paula’s Attic in Elkader for four years, worked for Dura in West Union for 17 years and ran a home daycare for a couple years. In her spare time, Paula enjoyed gardening, playing cards, solving puzzles, collecting antiques, helping at Everitt Auction and reading. She especially loved spending time with her grandchildren. Paula was a member of St. Paul Lutheran Church, Volga, Iowa.

Paula is survived by her two sons, Jason (Jennifer) Everitt of Volga, Iowa and Joshua (Rebecca) Everitt of Wadena, Iowa; six grandchildren, six great-grandchildren; two sisters, Marge Taylor of Mederville and Adrianne (Bill) Gronau of Washington; half-brother, David (Gayle) Taylor of Luana; and several nieces and nephews.

Paula was preceded in death by her husband, Richard Everitt in March 2012; daughter, Rebecca Bennington on June 11, 2003; her parents, Helmer and Ruby McClane; and her twin sister, Paulette Stoffel.

Funeral Services were held at 1 p.m. on Monday, July 31, 2017, at St. Paul Lutheran Church, Volga, Iowa with Rev. Margaret Yackel-Juleen as the officiant. There was also a three-hour visitation from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. before services at the church on Monday. Burial was at Hillcrest Cemetery, Volga, Iowa.

Leonard-Grau Funeral Home and Cremation Service, Elkader, Iowa assisted the family with the arrangements.
