On July 22, at about 1:25 a.m., the Grant County Sheriff’s Office was notified of a one-vehicle crash on Highway 35 near Cemetery Road in Beetown Township. Gary Lindahl, 53, of Platteville, was operating a 2001 VanHool Motor Coach, owned by Warco Transportation.

Lindahl was westbound on Highway 35 when he negotiated a corner and came across a downed tree partially blocking the westbound lane of traffic. Lindahl veered left in an attempt to avoid the tree, but the front of the motor coach and windshield still struck several branches of the tree.

Lindahl was able to maintain control of the motor coach and bring it to a stop on the shoulder of the road. Lindahl was the driver and lone occupant of the motor coach. He received minor injuries from broken glass of the windshield and was transported to Grant Regional Health Center in Lancaster via EMS.

The motor coach sustained minor damage and was driven from the scene. Bloomington Fire, West Grant EMS and B&M Towing, of Bloomington, assisted at the scene.
