Crash leads to OWI arrest
On Sunday, July 2, at 2:42 a.m., the Crawford County Sheriff’s Department received a report of a one-vehicle crash on County C near White Road in the township of Freeman.
Taylor J. Richardson, 24, Boscobel, was operating a 2011 Ford F-350 eastbound on County C when he swerved to miss a deer. Richardson crossed the center line, entered the left ditch and went over an embankment. Richardson’s truck then struck a water drain culvert.
Richardson and his passenger, Ian M.T. Riley, 26, Boscobel, claimed no injuries in the crash. During the investigation, it was determined that Richardson was under the influence of alcohol. Richardson was arrested for first offense OWI.
Richardson was cited for OWI (first offense), prohibited alcohol concentration (first offense) and non-registration of auto.
The vehicle sustained severe damage. Assisting at the scene was Milo’s Towing.
