Traffic stop results in man being reunited with family members

On Sunday, June 25, at 11:30 a.m., the Crawford County Sheriff’s Department received a driving complaint of a white cargo van crossing the centerline multiple times on Highway 35.

A Crawford County deputy was able to locate the vehicle and conducted a traffic stop near Highway 35 and County Road C. The driver was identified as 78-year-old John W. Manney. On June 24, Manney was reported as a missing and endangered person from Champaign, Ill.

Contact was made with the Champaign Police Department and Manney was reunited with his family.

The Crawford County Sheriff’s Department was assisted by the Champaign Police Department, Ferryville First Responders, Ocooch Mountain Rescue and Crossing Rivers Health.
