A 26-year-old man has been charged in Crawford County Circuit Court with one count of theft by contractor.
Nicklaus Kenyon faces up to 3.5 years in prison and a $10,000 fine if convicted.
According to the criminal complaint, a Prairie du Chien man entered into an agreement to have a roof replaced by Kenyon who was doing business as Honey Do Handyman Services.
The bid was for $6,500. The terms of the agreement called for payment up front of $4,500, which the man paid to Kenyon. No work was ever done and the up-front money was never returned, according to the complaint.
