Robert Edward Kottke, 89, Prairie du Chien, Wis., passed away on Tuesday, June 6, 2017.

A celebration of life will be held at 11 a.m. on Monday, July 10, at Faith Evangelical Free Church, Prairie du Chien, Wis., conducted by Pastor Kevin Kottke. Everyone is invited for food and fellowship following the service.

Bob was born April 24, 1928, in Bloomington, Wis., to Ed and Clara (Biener) Kottke. He graduated from Bloomington High School in 1946, and within a few months enlisted in the U.S. Army serving in the European Theatre of Occupation in Germany until 1948.

Upon his return from Germany, he met Virginia Bartels and they were married in August 1949. Bob worked with his dad, Ed Kottke, at the Kottke Gas Station and Auto Dealership until it closed in the 1960's. Bob was employed at John Deere Tractor Works until 1990.

Bob is survived by his devoted wife, Virginia; his sister, Betty Cascarano of Sarasota, Fla.; three children, Gloria (David) Uppena of Wake Forest, N.C., Kevin (Deborah) Kottke of Plainfield, Ind., Kim (Belinda) Kottke of Cassville, Wis.; nine grandchildren and 30 great-grandchildren located in Minnesota, Indiana, North Carolina, Wisconsin, West Virginia, Pennsylvania and Brazil, South America.
