Seneca edges Wauzeka-Steuben

The play went on for quite awhile but Wauzeka-Steuben finally got the out and prevented the score. They also got the next two batters out to get out of a bases loaded jam.

Seneca and Wauzeka-Steuben traded the lead back-and-forth on Thursday, but eventually Seneca prevailed 9-6 in a Ridge and Valley baseball game.
Seneca took the lead for good in the fifth inning. The game was tied at five with Seneca batting in the bottom of the fifth when Devin Wallin singled off of Carter Lomas, driving in two runs.
Wauzeka-Steuben scored four runs in the third inning, but Seneca still managed to pull out the victory. The big inning for Wauzeka-Steuben came thanks to a fielder’s choice, a single by Jeremy Lessard, a single by Garrett Groom, and a single by Jake Reichmann.
Wauzeka-Steuben captured the lead in the first inning. With zero outs in the first inning, Carter Lomas drove in one run when he singled.
Gavin Greene earned the win for Seneca. He pitched six innings and allowed five runs and 10 hits while whiffing seven. Lomas took the loss for Wauzeka-Steuben. He threw four and a third innings and allowed nine runs and nine hits while fanning six.
Seneca collected nine hits. Noah Allan, Devin Wallin, and Tommy Johnson each collected multiple hits for Seneca. Wallin and Greene each drove in two runs to lead Seneca. Seneca stole 11 bases during the game as two players stole more than one. Allan led the way with four.
Wauzeka-Steuben had 12 hits in the game. Reichmann, Lomas, and Lessard each collected multiple hits for Wauzeka-Steuben.a
