JoAnn Shea, 76, of Belleair Bluffs, and formerly of Prairie du Chien passed away Friday, April 28, after a five month battle with lung cancer, at The Willows Care and Rehab Center in Madison.

 

She was born July 20, 1940, in Chicago, the daughter of Theodore and Joan (Kirkicki) Obler. She married Donald Shea on Nov. 9, 1968, in Chicago. JoAnn was a bank branch manager in Chicago and Prairie du Chien. She was an active member of St. John’s Church in Prairie du Chien and was a member of the Eagles Club where she performed with the “Ding-A-Lings.” She was later an active member of St. Jerome’s in Seminole, Fla. 

 

She is survived by a brother Ted Obler; a sister Carol Ricordati; four sons Steve, James, Kevin and Daniel; a daughter Donna; three nephews; a niece; four grand nieces; 14 grandchildren; and 14 great grandchildren. 

 

She was preceded in death by her parents and her husband. 

 

A Memorial Mass of Christian Burial will be Saturday, May 20, at 11 a.m. at St. John’s Church of the Holy Family Parish, in Prairie du Chien, with Rev. James Weighner officiating. Inurnment will be at a later date in St. Casimir Mausoleum in Chicago. Friends may call at the church on Saturday from 9 a.m. until the time of services. In lieu of flowers please make a donation to St. John’s Church in Prairie du Chien or St. Jerome’s Church in Seminole, Fla. The Garrity Funeral Home of Prairie du Chien is assisting the family.
